As part of Celebrating Cromford 2012, the organisers and village pubs have lined up a wide variety of live music and entertainment over the weekend for visitors and villagers alike to enjoy.
-
The Bell Inn on North Sreet will be one of the venues for live music at Celebrating Cromford 2012.
-
The Boat Inn on Scarthin sees a variety of music and entertainers at Celebrating Cromford 2012, concluding the weekend with an open mic night.
-
The Greyhound in the market place might be the choice for you if you're after a quiter drink during the Celebrating Cromford 2012 weekend.
Dale Diva will start the entertainment on Friday evening at the community centre when the award winning chorus will sing as the Cromford Olimpyc torchbearer returns to the village.
The Boat Inn has a beer festival on all weekend and starts with live music from The Boat People at 9.30pm on Friday evening. They also have a storyteller and magician between 2.30 and 4pm on Sunday afternoon and close the weekend's festivities with an open mic night from 9.30pm on Sunday evening.
Cromford Mill is also hosting a beer festival over the weekend.
Groove 66 will be playing opposite The Bell on Friday evening at 7pm and guided walks around Rose End Meadows also starting from the Bell Inn on Saturday.
The main music marquee will be on Scarthin and across the weekend live bands will be playing to visitors, starting at 1pm with a Michael Jackson tribute act followed by Rachel Osborne at 1.30pm and the Rampage Brass Band at 2pm and 3pm. On Saturday evening The Scarthin Band, Northern Monkey and The Dooberries will all be playing in the marquee from 8pm onwards.
Cromford Community Band will also be playing outside the community centre on Saturday from 3pm.
Sunday sees Cromford School singing at 2pm in the marquee and Whiskey Bob Shaker at 7pm before the last live act of the weekend, Rock Factory, at 8pm.
However, if you'd like a relaxing drink without the live music then The Greyhound on the market place is open all weekend.
Whatever your musical tastes or if you fancy a good pint, the 2012 Celebrating Cromford weekend is well worth a visit. To find out more about the weekend's activities on offer take a look at our other feature on Matlock People.
