Students at Anthony Gell have gained excellent A-level results this year including a record number of A* grades.
The school has students going to universities all around the country to do courses from natural sciences at Cambridge, Philosophy and French at Oxford, Computer Games Design in Leeds and Law in Birmingham.
Mr Baker said, "It is great to see so many of our students gaining places at university at a time when there is more competition than ever for places. I want to congratulate all of our students both those with very high grades, including one student with five A*s, and those with lower grades who have also met their personal targets and gained excellent qualifications."
Mr Baker added, "Despite anything you might hear to the contrary, students have to work incredibly hard to be successful at A-level and we should all be very proud of our young people. The hard work of teachers and the support of parents and governors is vital, but ultimately it is the student who has to do the studying and produce the performance in the exams".
