Peak District Mining Museum
Well worth discovering
This is a great museum for both adults and children alike. My children loved the 'shafts' located in the museum, which they could use to climb from one floor to another. Also included in our visit was a guided tour of a disused mine (just over the road) which is operated by the museum. This was a great accompaniment to the museum itself - please note the tours only operate at certain times on certain days. If you're in the area, the museum is well worth a visit and it's a great option if the weather isn't good.
