From today the swimming pool timetable at Arc Leisure Matlock will be changing. In response to initial customer feedback, Derbyshire Dales District Council's multi-million pound leisure centre will be providing more time for families to use the pool together, at weekends, as well as providing more opportunities for serious swimmers to use swimming lanes throughout the whole of the timetable.
From today, the swimming pool timetable at Arc Leisure Matlock has changed following feedback from some of the centre's 89,000 users to date.
Paul Blakemore, Manager of Arc Leisure Matlock.
Since opening on August 24th, Arc Leisure Matlock has welcomed 89,000 visitors, which represents a "massive" increase on the Matlock Lido facility it replaced. A large number of visitors have also taken time to complete feedback forms and pass on suggestions to staff at the facility.
Arc Leisure Matlock's Manager, Paul Blakemore said, "I have been delighted to have received so many customer comments forms and verbal recommendations, it shows that our customers really care about how they can use Arc Leisure Matlock and are really engaged with the facility. We are very keen to hear from our customers and to respond to their needs and I am sure that our new pool programme really addresses the fine balance we have to strike between private bookings from the various sports clubs that use Arc Leisure Matlock, those that want to make use of lanes for swimming as well as casual pool users and families."
The new pool programme has been designed to increase the number of Aqua Fit sessions, has more time for families to use the Learner Pool and Toddler Splash Pad, incorporates the ASA's national gym-style initiative for the pool, Swimfit and makes it very clear when lane swimming is available throughout the week. During the week, excluding Monday, the pool closes at 9.45pm to make sure staff have the pool and changing areas clean, tidy and fit for purpose in time to open up for early bird swimming at 6.30am every day.
Mr Blakemore continued, "The pool programme introduced when we opened was always intended to be provisional. The important thing was to listen to our customers and do our utmost to accommodate their needs."
